Fridays with Kriss: How to Wear Stirrup Leggings + Sheer Skirt
Every piece I make starts with the fabric. I want to touch it and feel it before I think about how it looks. The Karin Stirrup Leggings, that are part of The Foundation collection, were also built that way.
The soft Tencel Modal fabric moves with you and is your first layer. The stirrup leggings are fun enough on their own as they have a garter clip detail at the strap. But I see it as the piece you pull on before anything else and then everything else goes over them. Yesterday when I visited the Frieze London art fair I tested that idea with our Jo Cat Tulle Skirt and here´s the result.

The look:
- Base: Karin Stirrup Leggings, the garter detail sits neatly at the ankle, so you can see it peeking out under the hem
- Layer: Jo Cat Tulle Skirt, light and see-through, so the leggings stay part of the look instead of disappearing
- Top: Our red Lace Bra print T-shirt. Adding colour and a little playful touch. And a reminder that our designs are meant to be fun.
- Jacket: A vintage cropped black leather jacket with a bit of volume at the shoulder
Why I like it:
It's comfortable enough to wear all day and striking enough to take out in the evening. The sheer layer adds movement and texture without making you feel exposed. Mix it with your own pieces and it still feels like you.
How to try it:
- Start with the Stirrup Leggings. Pick a pair that sits high and fits close.
- Add a colourful top. A print tee or a fitted jersey top both work well.
- Add a sheer skirt over them. Keep the hem a little below the knee so the leggings and straps show.
- Finish with a jacket and flats or heels as you wish.
Happy exploring!
