Fridays with Kriss: How running helps me design 🏃♀️
Happy New Year!!! Hope you got some rest and time to breathe.
I don't make New Year's resolutions. Honestly, I think it's the worst time of the year to do it.
I see so many people running in the park beginning of January. Brand new gear, fresh energy, full commitment. By the end of January, the traffic is fading. By February, it's back to normal.
Everyone's making promises they can't keep. The pressure is suffocating, and most resolutions are forgotten anyway.
Instead, I do my New Year reflections when it's my birthday in August. There's something about that timing - less pressure, more clarity.
But between now and then, I run. Not for competing. I run because it keeps my mind working.
When I'm running, I'm not thinking about inventory or emails or deadlines. I'm just moving. I'm actively trying not to think. And that's when the best ideas come.
Solutions appear. I see the next collection, the next piece, the direction I need to go.
So while everyone's making resolutions in January, I'm lacing up my trainers and letting my mind wander. That's where the magic happens.
What do you do to clear your head? Hit reply, I'd love to know.
Kriss 🖤
